Becoming a disciple of Jesus is the most significant decision you could ever make. It’s not about praying a prayer. It’s not about reading your Bible every day. It’s not even about going to church. It’s about surrendering your life to the Creator of the Universe. It’s about believing that He is the Son of God, who died on a cross for your sins, rose again on the third day and currently sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. It’s about recognizing your need for Him.
When you recognize your need for Him, its now time to repent. Repentance, essentially, is saying no to your way of life and saying yes to Jesus’ way for you. It is saying no to your selfish desires and saying yes to Jesus’ desires for you. It is about dying to yourself every single day and living in Him.
Once you have done this you are ready to receive Jesus into your heart and life and begin living in the power of the Holy Spirit. Receive Him. Allow Him to transform you. Allow Him to create a new you. Allow Him to be the Lord and Savior of your life. Live in the power of the Holy Spirit every day!
